Students are expected to act with the utmost integrity in all their academic work.

Plagiarism is using the words and ideas of others without acknowledging your source.

It is wrong because:

  • it is dishonest
  • it is illegal
  • it may disadvantage the originator of the information
  • you may be severely penalised for it

You can avoid plagiarism by:

  • using the information process to make notes and put your findings in your own words
  • acknowledging the sources of your information correctly
